Nelson and Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has wrapped up its filming. "Alapparai Kelappurom, Thalaivaru Nerandharam! It's a wrap for #Jailer2," read a post from Sun Pictures on X.
The production company shared images from set, featuring Rajinikanth, Nelson and the rest of the cast and crew celebrating the wrap-up party. Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, which also featured actors like Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi and Yogi Babu, with Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar appearing in much-hyped cameos as well.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vijay Sethupathi confirmed that he might be making a cameo in the film. In an interview with THR India, when asked about his decision to say no to cameos, Sethupathi said he still stands by it, but Jailer 2 was a no-brainer as he loves Rajinikanth. Sethupathi had earlier acted with Rajinikanth in Petta (2019).
"I have done a cameo in Jailer 2 because I love Rajinikanth sir. To be with him, I get to learn a lot. The superstars survived in this industry for so many decades. There is so much to learn," the actor added.
Jailer follows the life of a retired jailer, Muthuvel Pandian, who tries to find his missing son and ends up crossing paths with an eccentric idol smuggler, Varman. The action-comedy became a blockbuster and the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023. The sequel seems to be a continuation of the storyline from the first part.
Nelson will reunite with Rajinikanth once more in the upcoming film with the superstar and Kamal Haasan. Tentatively titled KHxRK, the film will feature Anirudh Ravichander as the composer. Speaking about reuniting with Rajikinath, Kamal Haasan had said earlier, “We’ve been itching to work together for a long time. Like how a biscuit was being split into two, we had then demanded that we each be given a whole biscuit each. Now we’ve found the joy again to realise that we are both happy with just that half biscuit again. So we’ll come together.”
