For the last few days, Olivia Dean has been leaving Indian fans with just enough to speculate. On August 28, the British singer-songwriter posted an image from her tour to Instagram Stories with an Indian flag emoji and a simple “See you soon?” The link attached to the post led fans towards an India-specific RSVP page, followed by a message that read, “India! more coming soon...”
Now, the answer appears to be getting clearer: Dean is set to make her way to Mumbai for Lollapalooza India 2027, where she will headline the festival’s fifth edition.
Lollapalooza India is returning to Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 23 and 24, 2027, with four stages and more than 20 hours of live music across the weekend. The festival has not yet released its complete lineup on its official platform, but Dean’s India confirmation marks one of the biggest names attached to the upcoming edition.
The 27-year-old East London singer has spent the past couple of years moving from cult favourite to bona fide pop star, without losing the soulful, intimate quality that first drew listeners to her music. Her 2025 album 'The Art of Loving' pushed that trajectory further, producing the breakout single Man I Need and earning her a UK chart double: the album reached No. 1, while Man I Need simultaneously topped the singles chart. It was the biggest opening week for a British female artist since Adele in 2021.
Then came the Grammys. At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in 2026, Dean took home Best New Artist, beating a field that included KATSEYE, The Marías, Addison Rae, Lola Young and Alex Warren. That makes her Lollapalooza India debut less a case of discovering an emerging artist and more a snapshot of an artist arriving in India at the height of her current momentum.
Tracks such as Man I Need, So Easy (To Fall in Love), Dive and The Hardest Part have given Dean a catalogue that sits between soul, pop and R&B, while her live performances have become an increasingly important part of her appeal.
