Mari Selvaraj has completed the first shooting schedule of 'Manjanathi,' starring Kathir, Priyanka Mohan, and Kayadu Lohar. The film, launched in September with Ilaiyaraaja as composer, is produced under Skanda Pictures and Navvi Studios. Selvaraj expressed gratitude to the team, sharing images from the wrap, marking a significant milestone for this musical drama.
The first shooting schedule of Mari Selvaraj's Manjanathi has officially wrapped. Composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja and starring Kathir, Priyanka Mohan and Kayadu Lohar in leading roles, the film was announced in June this year and went on floors this September.
Selvaraj took to X to share the development, expressing his gratitude to the film's team, sharing images from the schedule's wrap. In his post, Selvaraj wrote, "The first schedule of MANJANATHI has been completed. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and love to everyone who made there wonderful days and memorable experiences possible."
Beyond Kathir, Priyanka Mohan and Kayadu Lohar, the cast also includes Vidhu and Poornima Ravi, among others. Manjanathi is produced by Sushant Prasad under Skanda Pictures, along with Selvaraj and his wife, Divya Mari Selvaraj, under the Navvi Studios banner. The film is both written and directed by Selvaraj.
With Ilaiyaraaja scoring the film, the technical crew further includes Ezhil Arasu K as cinematographer, editor Selva RK and co-producer Harsh Lalwani. Fortune Entertainment, Skanda Pictures and Navvi Studios are the banners behind the film.
Manjanathi was formally launched on September 7 this year, with legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja inaugurating the event. The film also began its shoot on the same day.
Selvaraj recently announced his next film as a producer, Maakaali, which stars fellow filmmaker Ameer in the lead role. The first-look poster, shared in September, revealed S.B. Aravinth, longtime assistant director to Selvaraj, as the writer and director, marking his solo directorial debut.
Mari Selvaraj's upcoming directorials also include the yet-untitled Suriya 50, superstar Suriya's 50th film, which is being produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu. Selvaraj is also heading the Dhanush-led Tamil fantasy film tentatively titled D56.
