Mohanlal has unveiled an ambitious slate of seven upcoming films, teaming with leading Malayalam directors including Priyadarshan, Dileesh Pothan, Jeethu Joseph, Jude Anthany Joseph, Sathyan Anthikad, Anoop Sathyan and Vishnu Mohan. Spanning projects from 2024 to 2027, the lineup mixes reunions with trusted collaborators and fresh partnerships, underscoring the superstar’s busy schedule and continued dominance in Malayalam cinema.
Mohanlal announced a series of new film projects on August 18, outlining a slate of seven films with some of Malayalam cinema's most prominent directors. With some stipulated to begin production this year and a few expected to go on floors in 2027, the announcement confirms the superstar's newest collaborations, both with previous collaborators and new-generation filmmakers.
His post on X announcing the slate read, "Exciting stories, exciting journeys and some very special filmmakers", going on to list the directors he will be working with, "Here’s a glimpse of my seven upcoming projects with:

Of the announced projects, it is rumoured that the actor's project with Priyadarshan will be the director's 100th film as a filmmaker. Priyadarshan's upcoming film, Haiwaan, will be released this September. The film is the Hindi-language adaptation of his 2016 thriller drama, Oppam, which also starred Mohanlal in the lead role, and is his 99th project as a filmmaker.
Sathyan Anthikad will be reuniting with Mohanlal after the 2025 family drama Hridayapoorvam. His son, Anoop Sathyan will be returning to direction with this yet-to-be-titled production, after his first directorial, the 2020 family romantic comedy, Varane Avashyamund.
Anoop Sathyan recently revealed to Cinema Express that this film is scheduled to go on floors in November and will be a "quirky comedy action thriller."
Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal will be collaborating once again, after their recent film together, Drishyam 3, the third instalment in the popular franchise. Dileesh Pothan's film with the actor is titled Nedumkandam Miracle and is co-written by Syam Pushkaran and Paulson Skaria.
Jude Anthany Joseph, whose latest project was Thudakkam, was the acting debut of Vismaya Mohanlal, the actor's daughter, and also featured Mohanlal. His next film with the actor is rumoured to begin production next year.
The superstar is currently awaiting the theatrical release date for his upcoming film, Athimanoharam, co-starring Meera Jasmine, which will open in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
Athimanoharam is directed by Tharun Moorthy, who previously helmed the Mohanlal-led crime-thriller Thudarum (2025). The film is produced by Ashiq Usman and is written by Ratheesh Ravi.
