Annapurna Studios has unveiled the first glimpse of Nagarjuna Akkineni’s landmark 100th film, officially titled King100, on the actor’s birthday. Written and directed by R.A. Karthik, the film releases worldwide on December 24, 2026, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s King. The teaser introduces Nagarjuna as a self-made “people’s King,” with music by Devi Sri Prasad and Tabu joining the cast.
Annapurna Studios has released the first glimpse of Nagarjuna Akkineni's 100th film today, coinciding with the actor's birthday. The banner has also confirmed the film's title and worldwide theatrical release date with the first glimpse.
Officially titled King100, the landmark film is set to release in theatres worldwide on December 24, 2026 — a release date clash with Shah Rukh Khan's long-awaited King.
The newly released first glimpse video opens with Nagarjuna's character delivering a monologue about identity, power and money. The superstar's voiceover explains how there are two types of people in this world - those who have money and those who don't. He continues that when he had no money, he was called a loser, and that he became the people's King as he came into money. The dialogue and visuals continue to explain the character's worldview, establishing the character's position and stature. The glimpse concludes on a clip of Nagarjuna against the landscape of a burning city, holding an infant in his arms.
King100 is written and directed by R.A. Karthik and produced by Annapurna Studios — the production house founded by Nagarjuna's father, the late actor-producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography is by Raja Mahadhevan, and editing is by Navin Nooli.
It was also announced earlier this year that actress Tabu has joined the cast of the film. The actress made this announcement on social media, writing, "And we begin with the #King100 #Nagarjuna @annapurnastudios," she wrote.
The duo, who was seen in 1996 blockbuster Ninne Pelladata, last shared screen space in the 1998 film Aavida Maa Aavide.
The December 24 slot places King100 in the Christmas window, along with Shah Rukh Khan's King, and Mohanlal's Athimanoharam, directed by Tharun Moorthy, releasing on the same date.
