Netflix’s first Tamil original of the year, TEST, is set to premiere on April 4, bringing together three powerhouse performers—R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth—in a gripping drama that extends beyond the cricket field. The film, which also features National Award-winning actress Meera Jasmine, marks the directorial debut of producer-turned-filmmaker S. Sashikanth. Playback singer Shaktisree Gopalan will make her debut as the music director with the project as well.

A high-stakes story of ambition and sacrifice, TEST follows the lives of three individuals—a national-level cricketer, a brilliant scientist, and a passionate teacher—whose paths collide in unexpected ways, forcing them to make decisions that will define their futures. Produced by YNOT Studios, the film promises to be an emotional rollercoaster with far-reaching consequences.
Speaking about his transition to direction, Sashikanth shared, “Having nurtured stories as a producer for years, stepping into the director’s chair for TEST was both exhilarating and deeply personal. This film is about resilience, the weight of choices, and how life itself is the greatest test of all. Bringing together three powerhouse performers—R.
