Ayushmann Khurrana has found his leading lady for his next theatrical outing. Shreyaa Chaudhry, best known for Amazon Prime Video’s Bandish Bandits (2020), will star opposite Khurrana in Mupapa, which is set to hit theatres on February 19, 2027.
The film is directed by Sameer Saxena and produced by Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, along with Posham Pa Pictures. Saxena co-founded the banner with Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna and Amit Golani. Mupapa marks the first theatrical collaboration between the studio and the production house.
Posham Pa Pictures is best known for the Netflix survival drama Kaala Paani (2023). With Mupapa, the banner moves from streaming to the big screen. Details about the film’s plot and the rest of its cast are yet to be revealed.
Mupapa puts Chaudhry back on the big screen. She made her film debut in Dear Maya (2017) opposite Manisha Koirala, but her best-known work so far has been on streaming. She played singer Tamanna Sharma in Bandish Bandits, a two-season musical drama that also starred Ritwik Bhowmik and was directed by Anand Tiwari. She was most recently seen in Prime Video’s The Mehta Boys (2025), Boman Irani’s directorial debut, alongside Irani and Avinash Tiwary.
Khurrana, who was last seen in Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Who Do (2026) returns to Yash Raj Films with Mupapa. He previously worked with the studio on Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017).
The casting comes with a second announcement that Chaudhry has signed with YRF Talent, the talent management arm of Yash Raj Films, putting her on the same roster as her Mupapa co-star.
