Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, one of the most anticipated films of the year, is set to release July 17. The movie had its world premiere in London earlier this week and the first reactions have been positive. Many critics who saw Nolan's adaptation of Homer's epic have described the film as a "staggering achievement", "a feast" and a "spectacular epic."
The expectations from the Oscar-winning director have been sky-high and if the first reactions are anything to go by, fans are in for a Nolan masterpiece.
Over the years, Nolan has built his legacy by making films that are visually stunning, thought-provoking, and emotionally resonant.
If you're planning to watch The Odyssey, this weekend is the perfect time to revisit some of Nolan's finest films:
One of Nolan's most loved films, Interstellar follows former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), who embarks on a mission to find a new home for humanity as Earth faces environmental collapse. Hans Zimmer's music, stunning visuals, and its blend of science and emotion make Interstellar a must-watch film.

Inception is a sci-fi heist thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, and Marion Cotillard in pivotal roles.
The story follows Dom Cobb (DiCaprio), a thief who steals corporate secrets using dream-sharing technology. But to clear his criminal record and return to his family, Cobb takes on an almost impossible mission: planting an idea in someone's mind instead of stealing one.
A complex storyline, impressive action sequences, most of which were filmed practically, and Nolan's filmmaking brilliance make Inception one of his fan-favourite films. Inception's ambiguous ending is the cherry on top, as even 16 years after its release, fans are still debating its meaning.

The Dark Knight is still considered as one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. In the second movie of the trilogy, Christian Bale returns as Batman whose task is to save Gotham City from the Joker, a terrifying and unpredictable criminal, played by Heath Ledger.
Ledger's performance earned him a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. This was also the film that started Nolan's IMAX obsession.

Christopher Nolan made his feature-film debut with Following, released in the year 1998. Shot on a $6,000 budget, the movie follows Bill (Jeremy Theobald), an unemployed, aspiring writer living in London. He is obsessed with following strangers through the streets of London but things get worse when he gets pulled into a dangerous criminal world. The neo-noir thriller is just 70 minutes long and it shows Nolan's fascination with non-linear storytelling and psychological suspense.
