Apple's biggest product event of the year came with an unlikely guest list. As the company unveiled its first foldable iPhone and introduced a new CEO to the world, Indian actor Triptii Dimri and Punjabi singer AP Dhillon were seen at the Apple Park in Cupertino.
The event, titled 'Surprise and Shine', marked John Ternus’ first keynote as Apple's chief executive, following his takeover from Tim Cook on September 1. Tim Cook, who led Apple for more than a decade, has moved into the newly created role of executive chair. Ternus unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone Duo, a passport-style foldable phone with a continuous 7.6-inch display when opened, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, updated AirPods and two new Apple Watch models.
Photos from the day showed both Dimri and Dhillon at the event, with Dimri sharing pictures of herself posing with Ternus, including one taken over brunch at Apple Park's Rainbow Room and another by a lake on the campus. Dimri, who has built a reputation over the past few years for roles in Qala (2022), Animal (2023), Bad Newz (2024) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024), posted about the visit on her own Instagram, prompting fans to speculate over what brought her to a tech keynote.
Dhillon had performed at the 'Breaking Borders' festival in Malta just four days earlier, on September 5, before making his way to California. Known for hits including 'Brown Munde', 'Old Money' and 'With You', Dhillon has a huge following across both Indian and international audiences, which may explain some of the internet's confusion over the pairing.
This isn't the first time Apple's launch had a guest list of Indian celebrities. Last year's event saw Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth and Navya Naveli Nanda make similar appearances.
