Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his next big-screen venture: a large-scale superhero action film directed by Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, set to go into production in the latter half of 2026.

Speaking to a select group of journalists in Mumbai ahead of the release of Sitare Zameen Par, the 59-year-old actor opened up about his future slate. “Lokesh (Kanagaraj) and I are doing a film together. It’s a superhero film, a big-scale action outing. The film will begin in the second half of 2026. We have both signed it. I cannot reveal anything further,” he said.

Before their full-length collaboration, Aamir will make a cameo appearance in Coolie, the Rajinikanth-starrer helmed by Kanagaraj, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.

Aamir also addressed speculation about a possible sequel to PK, dismissing the rumours. “That’s a rumour. This is the first time I am hearing about it,” he said. However, he did confirm that a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneering figure of Indian cinema, is in the works. “The Dadasaheb Phalke biopic is happening. Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) and I are working on it.”
