The Malayalam star is rumoured to make his Tamil return in a negative role for 'Benz,' the fourth instalment in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action-packed cinematic universe, co-starring Raghava Lawrence and Samyuktha.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s expanding cinematic universe may soon welcome a new face — in an unfamiliar avatar. Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is widely speculated to play the antagonist in Benz, the upcoming Tamil action thriller starring Raghava Lawrence.
Directed by Remo filmmaker Bakkiyaraj Kannan, Benz marks the fourth film in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU), following Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. While Kanagaraj is not directing this instalment, he remains creatively involved, co-writing and co-producing the film under his G Squad banner.
Fuelled by slick first-look posters and a cryptic social media teaser — “You are ‘N’ot ready for this” — anticipation over the film’s villain has reached fever pitch. The makers of the film released a character promo for Nivin's role, titled Walter in the film.
The female lead is played by Vaathi actor Samyuktha, while composer Sai Abhyankkar, known for AA22, is onboard for his debut feature score.
Pauly, best known for Premam, recently wrapped filming Baby Girl, a thriller directed by Garudan’s Arun Varma and scripted by acclaimed duo Bobby and Sanjay. The film also stars Lijomol Jose and Premalu’s Sangeeth Prathap, and is produced by Listin Stephen under Magic Frames.
His upcoming slate is crowded. Alongside Baby Girl, he is working on multiple Malayalam projects including Dolby Dineshan, Dear Students with Nayanthara, Multiverse Manmadhan, and a sequel to Action Hero Biju. He is also set to headline director Ram’s Tamil-language Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai and will make his web series debut later this year with Pharma on JioCinema.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is preparing for his next directorial, Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and slated for release in August 2025. The film’s ensemble cast includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Soubin Shahir — with rumours of a cameo by Aamir Khan.
