Actor Shine Tom Chacko Apologises To Vincy Aloshious

On Tuesday, actor Shine Tom Chacko and Vincy Aloshious appeared together at a press conference to promote their new film Soothravakyam, ending their months of conflict. In April, Vincy had spoken up about Shine’s alleged misconduct during the shoot of this film and had appeared before the internal committee of the production to explain what had happened. Although she had not named Shine, Vincy posted a video on the 15th of April speaking out about drug abuse and inappropriate behaviour by a lead actor on a film set she was working on. But it was later revealed that she was talking about Shine. A complaint was later filed with the Kerala Film Chamber.

But on Tuesday in Thrissur, Shine apologised publicly, stating, “At times, I was not aware of the gravity of my actions and statements. If my actions hurt you, I apologise.”

In response, Vincy said that his apology needn’t have been issued publicly and that it’s more a personal matter between the two of them. “It had become such a controversy, and I’m happy to conclude that matter. Like Shine recently said in an interview, I feel so much respect for the journey he is undergoing (regarding his drug rehabilitation), and I’m happy that he has chosen that path. That’s all I have to say about that issue.” She also apologised for the way the controversy disturbed Shine’s family.

Shine had recently spoken at length about losing his father in an accident and his journey towards de-addiction. He said, “Now, I can say my addiction is in going to rehab. I started going to rehab during the shoot of my upcoming film Pinnale. My father, too, was very happy to see me making these steps towards de-addiction, and we were on a drive to Bengaluru to complete the rehabilitation process when the accident took place.” The accident occurred on June 6.  Speaking about the accident, he told Cue Studio, “I’m not sure if it’s withdrawal symptoms, but ever since I quit (smoking and drug use), I developed the habit of constantly eating biscuits. Earlier, I would have smoked during breaks, but now I have replaced that with biscuits. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to ask my dad for biscuits. The next thing I remember is seeing him after the accident. He did not communicate with us after that.”
