Actor Shiva Rajkumar Stable After Cancer Surgery in the US
The Kannada superstar is expected to return to normalcy in a few weeks, as confirmed by his doctor in a statement.
Kannada film star Shiva Rajkumar is recovering well after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous bladder in the US on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by his family and the doctor, the 62-year-old actor is currently stable.
Under the care of Dr Murugesh Manoharan, the procedure involved removing the actor’s cancerous bladder at the Miami Cancer Institute in Florida, USA. The doctor confirmed the news of his recovery in a video statement, noting how Rajkumar is expected to "recover very quickly and get back to normalcy within a few weeks."
"We are pleased to share an update regarding Shiva Rajkumar’s recent medical procedure. The surgery, performed earlier today, was successful, and we are glad to report that Shiva Rajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well," the doctor said.
Currently under observation after the surgery, his family reassured fans that ‘Shivanna’ as he’s fondly called, is set to return to India in January 2025. They thanked his well-wishers for their prayers and continued support.
Shiva Rajkumar is the eldest son of Kannada actor Rajkumar, and brother to actors Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar. Having made his debut with Sri Srinivasa Kalyana in 1974, he has acted in over 125 Kannada films to date.
The actor was last seen in Bhairathi Ranagal, which was released in November.
