Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur's ‘Dacoit’ Gets New Release Date
The film will now get a Pan Indian release for Eid-Gudi Padwa in 2026.
A new release date has been set for Dacoit, a Telugu-Hindi bilingual starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap. The action drama will now get a wide, pan-Indian release on March 18, 2026, coinciding with the Eid-Gudi Padwa festival release season. This is also Ugadi in the two Telugu-speaking states.
The film is said to have been shot in both Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, and is currently in the final stages of post-production.
Dacoit is being directed by Shaneil Deo. It is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang. The film will be distributed by Annapoorna Studios.
A first-look glimpse of the film was released in May. Back then, the film had an expected release plan for Christmas, December 25. In the video, Adivi Seth’s character is shown to play a prisoner as he attempts to break free as he is being moved. "Hey, Juliet. What happened to you isn’t a trivial thing. Everybody betrayed you. But I am not here to betray you. No. I am here to destroy you,” says Sesh’s character in the teaser, which is followed by a shot of him and Thakur in black masks. According to reports, the film revolves around two exes who come together to commit robberies. "An explosion of guns & roses… betrayal & trust… and above all, Love & Loss. Witness a wicked FIRE between two EXES,” the caption of the video read.
Adivi Sesh is also a writer on Dacoit: A Love Story. He is known for acting in Major and HIT: The Second Case, both 2022 releases. Dacoit will be his first full-length release in more than three years.
Thakur, who is known for her performances in Telugu films such as Sita Ramam (2022) and Hi Nanna (2023), was last seen in Son of Sardaar 2.
