Ajay Devgn might team up with 'Su From So' director for his next

Actor Ajay Devgn has likely zeroed in on his next, a horror comedy with director JP Thuminad, the filmmaker behind the blockbuster Kannada film Su From So. While there is no official confirmation, reports suggest that the film will be backed by KVN Productions, which is also producing KGF star Yash's next, Toxic.

Devgn has reportedly loved the idea presented to him by Thuminad and has asked for a bound script, which will be discussed in their meeting next month.

"Ajay has not been a part of a proper horror comedy, and this one falls right in the zone that he was on the lookout for,” Pinkvilla reported. According to the report, the makers are aiming to go on floors in the first half of 2026. This will be the second Hindi film of KVN Productions after Haiwaan, the upcoming Priyadarshan directorial starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.

Released last month, Su From So emerged as the highest-grossing Kannada film of the year with over ₹100 crore global collections. The film, also a massive critical success, has been lauded for bringing back huge footfalls in Kannada cinema after landmark films like the KGF series, Kantara (2022) and 777 Charlie (2022).

Devgn is currently filming his next project, Ranger, directed by Jagan Shakti and also starring Tamannaah Bhatia. Post this, the actor will then begin work on Drishyam 3 and the fifth Golmaal, scheduled to go on floors in October and January, respectively. The actor has had a mixed bag year so far with two sequels: Raid 2, which emerged as a superhit and the comedy Son of Sardaar 2, which bombed at the box office.

Meanwhile, Toxic, starring Nayanthara, Kareena Kapoor, and Kiara Advani, among others, is gearing up for an Eid 2026 release. The makers have reportedly locked the first half and are now shooting for key moments of the second half.
