In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Tamil star Ajith Kumar revealed that he won’t be shooting during the racing season, which runs from October to March, but says a new film is already in the works. “I may start filming in a couple of months [for AK64 ], and by January, we should have an announcement.”

Recently, director Adhik Ravichandran, who helmed Good Bad Ugly with Ajith Kumar, said that the duo are reuniting for AK64. The filmmaker noted that the movie will appeal to family audiences as well as the star’s hardcore fans.

The same spirit defines his parallel life as a professional racer. “Even when it comes to racing, I am probably working as hard as a 19-year-old wanting to make racing a career.”

Now, with over three decades in cinema and a Padma Bhushan to his name, Ajith's focus is to race as much as possible and help the sport grow in India. “If it happens organically, I am okay,” he smiles when asked about the possibility of a Brad Pitt F1-style remake in India. “Any way that we can popularise the sport..."
