Tentatively titled 'Fauji', the project will be directed by 'Sita Ramam' filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher on Thursday announced his latest film featuring superstar Prabhas. Tentatively titled Fauji, the film will be directed by Sita Ramam (2022) filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi.
Kher took to Instagram and posted a picture with the film's team, including Prabhas—who he called the "Baahubali of Indian cinema"—director Raghavapudi, and cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee.
The upcoming feature will be Kher's 544th film and the actor hailed the script, calling it a "fascinating" story. Set in the 1940s, the film is reportedly a historical fiction drama.
"Delighted to announce my 544th untitled film with the #Bahubali of #IndianCinema, the one and only @actorprabhas! The film is directed by the very talented #HanuRaghavapudi! And produced by wonderful team of producers of @mythriofficial! My very dear friend and brilliant @sudeepchatterjee.isc is the #Dop! It is a fascinating story. The official page of Mythri Movie Makers also posted pictures of Prabhas with Kher, writing that he will be seen in a "crucial role" in the film, which also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and marks the debut of Imanvi as the female lead.
Kher has previously worked in Telugu films like the 2022 mystery-adventure Karthikeya 2 and Ravi Teja-led Tiger Nageswara Rao (2023). He was last seen in Emergency, starring Kangana Ranaut while Prabhas' last release was the 2023 sci-fi actioner Kalki 2898 AD.
