Tiger Shroff leads a gory hack-a-thon in the blood-soaked teaser for Baaghi 4. The long-running action franchise is back in a grimmer, grislier garb, with Shroff joined by Sanjay Dutt and Sonam Bajwa for a relentless slaughterfest.

The age-restricted teaser opens with a heartsick Ronny (Shroff), clad in a robe and spreadeagled precariously on the edge of a terrace, announcing in voice-over, "Zaroorat aur zaroori mein farq hota hai." For the next twenty seconds, we see the primary characters shedding a tear each, a somewhat emotional interlude quickly interrupted by spasms of roiling violence. A wedding is turned into a mosaic of hacked limbs and necks, and the butchering only escalates from there. At one point, we see Shroff grab and stab multiple masked assassins in an Animal-coded showdown.

The film appears to be a revenge drama centred around love. While Dutt stands out as the unhinged antagonist of the piece, creepily lighting a cigar from a severed limb, Shroff claims the title of both 'hero' and 'villain' for himself.

Bearing the tagline 'Har Aashiq Ek Villain Hain', Baaghi 4 is directed by Kannada filmmaker A. Harsha in his Hindi debut, with story and screenplay of the film credited to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Baaghi 4 marks the Hindi screen debut of Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu, who has starred in a couple of Punjabi films in the past.

The Baaghi franchise took flight in 2016 as a 'partial remake' of the Telugu film Varsham. The second and third instalments, released between 2018 and 2020 and both directed by Ahmed Khan, also remade popular films from the South. Collectively, the Baaghi films have made over ₹500 crores at the global box-office.

Baaghi 4 is slated for release in theatres on September 5. Shroff last featured in the action two-hander Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and the ensemble cop drama Singham Again, both released in 2024.
