‘Baramulla’ Trailer: Manav Kaul Confronts Dark Mysteries In Kashmir

Netflix India has released the trailer for Baramulla, a supernatural thriller set against the haunting backdrop of Kashmir’s misty valleys. Starring Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli, the film follows a series of mysterious child disappearances that set off a chilling investigation. Kaul plays DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyid, a police officer who moves to Baramulla with his family, only to find himself caught between duty and dread as strange occurrences begin to unfold in their new home.  What begins as a routine case soon spirals into a psychological and supernatural mystery, blending the tension with an atmosphere of fear and grief. 

Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, best known for Article 370, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios, along with Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar for B62 Studios — marking their second collaboration with Netflix after the romantic comedy Dhoom Dhaam. With its moody tone and atmosphere, Baramulla promises a fresh, genre-bending story rooted in emotion and folklore. The film is set to premiere globally on November 7.

Director Aditya Jambhale said, “The story begins as a mystery thriller, but slowly pulls you into something far more emotional and psychological. It’s about fear, not just the kind that lurks in the dark, but the kind that lives within us.” Manav Kaul added, “It’s not loud horror, it’s the kind that creeps up on you, where silence feels heavier than sound. Being a Kashmiri from Baramulla, the script felt like a sign from the universe to tell the stories of the valley with honesty and love.”

Aditya Suhas Jambhale most recently directed Article 370, while Manav Kaul was last seen in Trial by Fire and School of Lies. Bhasha Sumbli, known for The Kashmir Files, returns to the screen with this psychological horror drama that explores the valley's hidden secrets and mysteries.
