Chiranjeevi’s fantasy epic 'Vishwambhara' shifts to Summer 2026, but fans get a treat with a special teaser releasing today at 6.06 pm.
Fans of Megastar Chiranjeevi have reason to both rejoice and wait a little longer. His highly anticipated fantasy drama Vishwambhara has officially been postponed to Summer 2026, with the makers citing extensive VFX work as the key reason for the delay. To make up for the wait, the star has promised fans a special teaser glimpse today (August 21) at 6:06 pm, as a part of his birthday celebrations.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Chiranjeevi explained the challenges behind the film’s ambitious scale: “The entire second half depends on VFX and graphics, so the team is going beyond their limits to ensure that the audience gets the best visual spectacle possible,” he said.
The actor added that Vishwambhara’s story is designed to entertain both children and adults, particularly evoking nostalgia for the “chandamama kathalu” tales that many grew up hearing.
To meet these high standards, the makers have reportedly roped in several international artists for the post-production process, ensuring the film offers a grand visual experience unlike anything seen before in Telugu cinema.
While no exact date has been announced, Vishwambhara will release in the summer of 2026. In the meantime, Chiranjeevi’s MEGA157, which began filming in May 2025, is expected to release earlier in January 2026, aligning with the Sankranthi festival.
Directed by Bimbisara filmmaker Vassishta Mallidi, Vishwambhara stars Trisha Krishnan alongside Aashika Ranganath, Kunal Kapoor, Ramya Pasupaleti, Esha Chawla, and Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri. The film is backed by UV Creations, with V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Vikram Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati producing, while Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita Konidela is also part of the production team.
The technical crew is equally powerful—MM Keeravani, fresh off his Oscar win, is composing the soundtrack, with Bheems Ceciroleo joining as guest composer. Chota K Naidu handles cinematography, and AS Kumar is in charge of elaborate set designs.
The teaser, scheduled for release today at 6:06 pm, is expected to give fans their first real glimpse of the film’s larger-than-life world after the earlier teaser in October 2024 drew criticism for its unfinished VFX.
