A new case, a new crime, and an unflinching Shefali Shah at the heart of it all. Netflix India recently debuted the trailer for Delhi Crime Season 3, the third chapter in the International Emmy Award-winning series. Directed and showrun by Tanuj Chopra, the new season expands the show’s scope with a storyline centred on human trafficking and a cross-country investigation led by DIG Vartika Chaturvedi, played by Shah. Facing off against her is Huma Qureshi as the formidable ‘Badi Didi’, the don of a nation-wide trafficking ring.

The trailer unveils a disturbing network in which women and children are trafficked under false promises of employment or marriage. As Chaturvedi and her team trace the disappearances, they uncover links to an elusive crime boss known as “Badi Didi,” portrayed by Huma Qureshi. The narrative unfolds across multiple Indian locations, including Delhi, Assam, and Rohtak.

The third season is written by Chopra along with Mayank Tewari, Anu Singh Choudhary, Shubhra Swarup, Apoorva Bakshi, and Michael Hogan. The ensemble cast also features Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisht, Anshumaan Pushkar and Kelly Dorji.

Chopra described the new season as “urgent and deeply human,” adding that it is accessible to new viewers as a standalone story. Tanya Bami, Series Head – Netflix India, called Delhi Crime a “flagship series” for the platform. "With this season we've pushed the boundaries and brought forward one of Madam Sir's toughest cases yet which takes the investigation beyond the boundaries of Delhi and even the country. The new season is a standalone story that is powerful, urgent and deeply emotional. We hope it’s a story that stays with our audience.”
