Actor-brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol made their first public appearance since the passing of their father, screen legend Dharmendra. On Thursday evening, the duo, along with the rest of the Deol family, hosted a special prayer meet in memory of the 89-year-old star, who breathed his last on Monday.

Titled 'Celebration of Life', the family-hosted gathering took place at Taj Lands End in Mumbai’s Bandra and saw a long list of celebrities who gathered to pay their respects. Among those present were members of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s family, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan and Shabana Azmi, along with several other prominent figures from the film industry.

A widely-circulated photograph from the event shows Sunny and Bobby visibly emotional as they greet guests, with a framed portrait of Dharmendra displayed in the background, adding to the solemnity of the moment.

During the prayer meet, singer Sonu Nigam paid a heartfelt musical tribute to the screen icon, who would have turned 90 in December. Nigam performed several of Dharmendra’s evergreen tracks, including 'Main Kahin Kavi Na Ban Jau', 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas', 'Apne Toh Apne Hote Hai', 'Ro Lene De', and the iconic Sholay anthem 'Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge'.

Reports also mention a live performance by singer Prithvi Gandharv, who sang 'Govind Bolo Hari Gopal Bolo.' The musical tributes were presented on a stage set up on the lawn, with a large portrait of Dharmendra displayed on the screen behind it, along with the message, “We’ll Miss You.”
