'Dhurandhar': Ranveer Singh Roars in Aditya Dhar's Next; Film Set To Clash with Prabhas-Starrer 'The Raja Saab'
Directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Dhurandhar' also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
Actor Ranveer Singh is gearing up for a major release this year with his next, Dhurandhar. The makers of the espionage action thriller dropped the first visual asset of the film on Sunday, featuring its star-studded cast on an exhilarating mission.
Directed by Aditya Dhar (of Uri: The Surgical Strike), Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The film will chronicle the untold saga of the origins of the 'unknown men'.
The 2-minute 40-second first look of the film features high-octane action, men on a mission, and introduces its key characters set to a foot-tapping track composed by Shashwat, with vocals by Jasmine Sandlas and a special collaboration by Hanumankind.
Singh took to X and shared the first look of the film, writing, "An Inferno will rise 🔥Uncover the true story of The Unknown Men ⚔️"
Dhurandhar has locked December 5 as its release date, which would mean it will have a box office clash with Prabhas' horror comedy The Raja Saab. The Telugu film, which will have a pan-India release, also stars Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan.
As of now, the clash is on, with rumours of another Hindi film eyeing the date: Vishal Bhardwaj's next with Shahid Kapoor. Though the makers haven't announced a title yet, the Sajid Nadiadwala production, co-starring Triptii Dimri, is looking at a December 5 global outing.
Except for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023, which was a success, Singh has had a dry spell at the box office post-pandemic, with movies like 83, Yash Raj Films' Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Rohit Shetty's comedy Cirkus. The actor will now hope to score big with Dhurandhar, which the trade is already expecting to score big at the box office.
Presented by Jio Studios, a B62 Studios production, Dhurandhar, is also written and produced by Aditya, along with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
