Prime Video has set October 1 as the premiere date for season two of its Hindi original series Dupahiya (2025). The announcement was made on Thursday, confirming the show’s return more than a year after its first season.
Dupahiya (2025) is set in Dhadakpur, a fictional village whose residents navigate everyday small-town disputes and misadventures, including a missing motobike. Season two picks up with a new set of complications for its characters, though the makers have not revealed specific plot details beyond describing a season with bigger stakes and more chaos than the first.
Directed by Sonam Nair, the second season of Dupahiya is created and produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under the banner Bombay Film Cartel LLP, and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg, who also created the series.
The new season brings back the original cast, including Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma. Dinesh Lal Yadav, the Bhojpuri actor and singer popularly known as Nirahua, joins the cast for season two.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios India, said the first season had resonated strongly with audiences and credited the writing and creative direction of Joshi, Shivdasani, Dwivedi and Garg for the show's success.
In a joint statement, Joshi and Shivdasani said Dupahiya has always been a story about big dreams colliding with everyday chaos, and that season two would carry both the comedy and the more emotional moments of the show forward with higher stakes for its characters. They said they were glad the first season had connected with audiences and were looking forward to how the new season would be received.
Dupahiya Season 2 will stream on Prime Video from October 1.
