Days after what is now being revealed to be a veiled threat issued by producer Listin Stephen, actor Nivin Pauly has opted to reply with similar ambiguity by urging people to "live with a good heart."

In his first public appearance since the controversy, Pauly advised those who threaten others and are driven by selfishness to cultivate a more positive outlook in life.

"I saw a hoarding on my way to this event. The hoarding urged people to 'live with a good heart.' That’s what I have to say to all of you. Let’s try to live with happiness and peace. We all know a lot of people who have a good heart. But we also come across a few who do not have one. People who are selfish or those who talk in terms of threat. What I have to say to them is to live with a good mind and to try to find a positive way to go ahead," he said.

Expressing gratitude, the actor also thanked his fans for their unwavering support, recalling how they stood by him during a difficult period last year. In 2024, Pauly was booked for sexual assault in the aftermath of the Hema Committee Report that came out in August last year. However, a Special Investigation Team probing similar cases cleared him of charges in November.

"Wherever I speak, I take that opportunity to thank my viewers. When that issue took place, all of you took my side without any suspicion. I will return soon with a set of good films," he added.

At the promotional event of his film Prince and Family starring Dileep, producer Stephen had made a cryptic comment about a leading Malayalam actor having committed a serious misstep. Though Stephen did not take any names, the producer cautioned that this action would set off a chain reaction, likening it to "lighting a firecracker," which would affect the functioning of the industry.

The remark sparked speculation that he was referring to Pauly, who had reportedly left the production of Baby Girl, a film helmed by Arun Varma and produced by Stephen, to join Akhil Sathyan's new project. Varma, however, has denied a lack of cooperation from Pauly.

Producer Sandra Thomas, in response to Listin, had said that it was unfair for a producer to make such statements without taking specific names, as it put the entire community of actors under the radar. She also asked why the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A), had not responded to Listin’s targeted allegations against one of their own.
