The reunion of team Saiyaara isn’t just about its lead pair Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda finding love again on screen—it also marks a filmmaker reuniting with one of his closest creative collaborators of over two decades: Mohit Suri and music composer Mithoon.
Mithoon—who began his career with Suri’s directorial debut Zeher (2005) with the track ‘Woh Lamhe’, and has since been associated with him on almost every project, including Saiyaara—has come on board his next film.
The project is backed by Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, who had also produced Saiyaara.
According to sources, Mithoon has already begun composing for the upcoming feature, which is currently in pre-production.
“It is going to be an intense love story with YRF, and the music will reflect that. There’s also buzz that the team is looking to launch a new singer with this album,” said an industry source.
The Suri–Mithoon collaboration has delivered some of Bollywood’s most defining music of the past two decades, shaping contemporary pop culture with standout soundtracks in films like Murder 2, Ek Villain, Aashiqui 2, Malang, and Half Girlfriend.
“One can surely expect nothing short of extraordinary from this duo, especially after Saiyaara,” the source added.
Talking about the new film, Suri had previously said the feature would explore intense love, "unabashedly".
"So coming back with the same team from Saiyaara feels incredibly special, maybe it was always written in the stars. Reuniting … coming back home .. but with a renewed creative hunger. This time I feel like a newcomer... excited, anxious about this story and I hope my music will again touch people like I have always strived for through my films," Suri had said.
Saiyaara became the all-time highest-grossing love story in the history of Indian cinema, collevting a staggering ₹338 crore nett in India and about ₹580 crore gross worldwide.
While Padda is currently filming for Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy universe film Shakti Shalini, Panday is busy with filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar's gangster drama, which is also produced by YRF.
