AGS Entertainment, which recently produced the Tamil film Dragon by Ashwath Marimuthu and debuted in the Hindi film industry with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor starrer Loveyapa, was rumoured to have signed Abhyankkar for an acting project.

The young composer, however, clearly denied the claims, calling them “false”. "I can't act; I don't know how to act," he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. He further confirmed that his association with the production house is solely for music.

The musician emphasised how acting is not an ambition for him, and that he believes certain qualities are innate, “Somewhere they need to have that spark.”

He also shared that while he enjoys performing in his music videos and plans to continue doing so, he does not intend to actively pursue acting.

Reflecting on his journey, Abhyankkar noted that he has worked on improving his dance skills over time by taking criticism constructively rather than personally, using it to refine his craft. However, when it comes to acting, he would prefer to focus on music, choosing to excel in a space familiar to him rather than explore uncharted territory.

However, as low as it may be on his list of priorities, Abhyankkar has not entirely ruled out the possibility of acting forever. While he remains firmly focused on music at present, he acknowledged that he would be open to considering opportunities.

“If it naturally comes to me, I will probably think about it but I don’t have that much of talent in acting,” he said, reiterating that it is not something he is actively pursuing at the moment.

He also spoke about his creative process, noting that he often tailors his work to suit the artist he is collaborating with — whether in terms of background score, lyrics, or rhythm. This approach allows him to align his music with the personality and demands of each project. His upcoming project, Suriya’s Karuppu, is scheduled to release in theatres on May 14, 2026.
