'Jaat 2' will be directed by Gopichand Malineni, who also helmed the first instalment in his Hindi debut.
Actor Sunny Deol is set to return as Baldev Pratap Singh for the sequel of Jaat, which was announced on Thursday. The development comes a week after the action drama hit the big screens and did decent business at the box office.
Jaat 2 will be directed by Gopichand Malineni, who also helmed the first instalment in his Hindi debut. The sequel will be produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Y, and TG Vishwa Prasad. Mythri Movie Makers will bankroll the film.
Deol took to Instagram and posted an announcement poster of the film, writing, "Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2." While the first instalment of the film also starred Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Vineet Kumar Singh, there are no updates on the casting of the sequel.
Jaat has netted approximately ₹57 crore in seven days. The actioner started slow at the box office but picked up pace in the mass pockets, as single-screen theatres recorded excellent collections.
Though the trending has been decent, the film might see a further dip in collection over the weekend if the reception to the latest Bollywood release, Kesari 2, is good. Headlined by Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and also starring Ananya Panday, Kesari 2 will hit the big screens on Friday.
Deol, meanwhile, will be next seen in Aamir Khan produced Lahore 1947, followed by Border 2 and Ramayana, in which he be seen as Lord Hanuman.
