Actor Sunny Deol's actioner Jaat had a good turnaround on Sunday when the collections hit double digits after a decent start at the box-office on Thursday. According to trade estimates, the Gopichand Malineni directorial netted approximately ₹14 crore on Sunday, taking its four-day extended weekend collection to over ₹40 crore.

Jaat's weekend numbers are Deol's biggest after his comeback blockbuster Gadar 2, which netted over ₹135 crores in 2023. Jaat was released on a lucrative date—with the film benefitting from a partial holiday on account of Mahavir Jayanti on Thursday, followed by a traditional weekend. On Monday, the movie will again see a good hold on collections as it will cash in on the Ambedkar Jayanti holiday.

Taking into account its five-day collections, Jaat should comfortably cross the ₹50 crore mark at the domestic box-office. The film is showing tremendous hold in non-multiplex chains, with many mass pockets lapping the film up. Though the start of the film in multiplexes and urban centres was low, Jaat picked pace over the weekend.

According to industry insiders, Jaat's budget is around ₹100 crore, so the film needs to hold well from Tuesday, when the holiday factor goes away.

While the film's trending shows acceptance, Jaat won't have a clear run ahead as it'll face a new release on April 18 with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari Chapter 2. Backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Kesari 2 also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday.

Jaat, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, also stars Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Vineet Kumar Singh.
