The legal counsel for KVN Productions, makers of Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan, has posted a release to desist the spread of their film. A pirated print of the film was leaked late last week, and clips from the movie have been circulating on social media and illegal streaming sites. In the note, counsel Vijay Subramanian writes, “It has come to my client's notice with utmost shock and urgency that certain scenes from the film Jana Nayagan have been illegally accessed, downloaded, copied and circulated by certain persons and forwarded to several third parties, creating a serious threat of digital leakage through various social media platforms. It is hereby informed that any downloading, forwarding, sharing, uploading, reposting, storing or circulating of such leaked scenes or clips of the Film Jana Nayagan through WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, websites, torrents or any other digital medium amounts to serious criminal offence and copyright violation and every person involved shall be individually liable for Criminal action.”
Reports have confirmed that over 300 links to the film have so far been removed from websites. The Cyber Crime Department has also arrested six people for illegal circulation of the film.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan—titled Jana Neta in Hindi—is positioned as Vijay’s final film before he transitions into full-time politics. The big-budget political thriller also features Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju and Priyamani, and is among the most anticipated releases of 2026.
On Thursday evening, clips from the big-budget political thriller started appearing on social media, including the film's title credits, action scenes, the introduction sequence, and the climax. By Friday morning, HD prints of the full film were reportedly available on pirated sites.
Jana Nayagan became embroiled in a legal dispute after the CBFC delayed issuing a certificate, with the film missing its Pongal release date. The film also features Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju and Priyamani, and continues to be among the most anticipated releases of 2026.
