Actors Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi's maiden collaboration finally has a release date. Ek Din, the much-awaited project from Aamir Khan Productions, is being readied for a theatrical release on November 7. While an official announcement is yet to be made, sources close to the industry have confirmed that the emotional drama has locked its release date for the last leg of the year.

The project will also mark the reunion of Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan as producers, marking their first collaboration in 17 years. The pair last worked together on Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008), a coming-of-age film that became a generational favourite.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din unfolds over the course of a single life-altering day in the lives of two strangers. Billed as a tender, emotionally resonant love story, the film explores fleeting encounters that leave a lasting imprint on people's lives. This marks a return to understated storytelling in the romance genre, which has been dominated by grand spectacle, especially post-pandemic.

The film brings together two new talents in Hindi cinema. Junaid, who made his screen debut with the 2024 Netflix feature Maharaj, and was then seen in this year's romantic-comedy Loveyapa, co-starring Khushi Kapoor. In the new film, he will be paired opposite Sai Pallavi, one of South Indian cinema’s most acclaimed actors, whose performances in Premam, Gargi, and Love Story have earned her a strong following for their emotional depth and authenticity. She will also be seen as Sita in Ramayana. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, will release next Diwali.

Mansoor has directed films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992) and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Josh, which was his last directorial in 2000. Aamir, meanwhile, is currently basking in the success of his recent theatrical Sitaare Zameen Par. The film has netted more than ₹230 crore globally.
