Superhit survival drama Manjummel Boys, directed by Chidambaram, was the big winner at the 55th Kerala State Film Awards 2024 today (November 3), with nine awards including Best Film and Best Director.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian announced the awards at a press conference in Thrissur; a jury headed by actor-producer Prakash Raj has been overseeing the judging process for the last month, according to reports.
Mammootty won his seventh Best Actor (Male) award for Bramayugam, the most for any actor in Malayalam, while Shamla Hamza won the Best Actor (Female) for her role in Feminichi Fathima. Premalu won Best Film with Popular Appeal, while best character actor awards went to Soubin Shahir (Manjummel Boys), Siddharth Bharathan (Bramayugam) and Lijomol Jose (Nadanna Sambhavam).
