Actor Vijay Deverakonda is looking at a comeback at the box-office as his latest release Kingdom has clocked in a strong opening globally. Armed with decent reviews, the Gowtam Tinnanuri-directorial had a blockbuster start in India as well in the USA with its premieres.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the all-India net of Kingdom was around ₹15.50 crore. The global gross of the film is around ₹39 crore.

This is a smashing start for Deverakonda as the numbers have come in on a working Thursday. The opening days figures are higher than his last few films, including The Family Star, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, which had netted a little over ₹5 crore as well as his Telugu romantic comedy Kushi, featuring Samantha, which opened at ₹15.25 crore.

The film is only marginally behind Deverakonda's pan-India release Liger. The 2022 bi-lingual film, backed by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects, had a bigger opening at ₹15.95 crore. However, the film, co-starring Ananya Panday, was a box-office disaster.

Kingdom appears to be at a much better position as the film had a solid global debut. In the US, the film recorded premiere day gross collections of over $900K (₹8.50+ crores), emerging as the biggest premiere grosser for Deverakonda.

Thrilled by the box-office debut, producer Naga Vamsi took to X and wrote, "After the massive and unimaginable USA premieres… Day 1 (a working Thursday) #Kingdom gross is around $275K to $300K 💥💥💥A big thank you to the USA audience for all the love and support.. We hope the love continues all through the weekend! ♥️"

Replying to another post about its sensational US debut, Deverakonda tweeted, "My Telugu darlings of USAaaaa ❤️🤗❤️". The film also stars Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse.

Kingdom marks Deverakonda's first collaboration with filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has helmed the Hindi and Telugu versions of Jersey.
