The new film will star a set of newcomers with Sajin Gopu, from Aavesham, playing a central character.

Venkaayo, a Tamil artiste from the independent music space, will be making an entry into Malayalam cinema as an actor in Kollam Kota Company. The film is being produced by Arun Narayanan, Anjana Philip, Binu SD, and Tinu Pappachan, with music by Justin Varghese. The screenplay has been written by R Aravindan and Sujith Sundaran, with Raahil handling the cinematography.

Notably, This approach to make a film with newcomers mirrors that of director Lijo Jose Pellissery, Tinu Pappachan’s mentor. When Lijo Jose Pellissery’s big-budget release Double Barrel failed to meet expectations in theatres, the director chose to make a comeback by reinventing his style and casting decisions, returned with the cult favorite Angamaly Diaries. Kollam Kotta Company could be Tinu Pappachan’s attempt to return to form after the failure of Chaaver

As for Pellissery, his next film is the Hindi-language Dilkashi, written by Karan Vyas and Pellissery, and starring Abhay Verma and Zahan Kapoor. The film follows the tale of Rose and Atharva, who are bound by an intense and complicated past, and are drawn back together by a passion they cannot escape. What begins as a second chance soon turns into a seductive yet volatile game of love, betrayal, and emotional manipulation. Their fragile reunion is further threatened by an obsessive third lover, whose fixation pushes them into dangerous territory. As desire collides with memory and fantasy blurs with reality, the trio becomes entangled in a web of longing and control, where every choice carries irreversible consequences.
