'Mookuthi Amman 2': Makers Drop Nayanthara's First Look on Dussehra

'Mookuthi Amman 2' is directed by Sundar C and also stars Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra and Yogi Babu among others.

The makers of Nayanthara-starrer Mookuthi Amman 2 unveiled the first look from the film on Dussehra, featuring the actor as the titular goddess. The new look has Nayanthara dressed in a green saree and holding a trident.

The grand poster features the actor sitting on the steps of a temple, bejewelled with gold and diamonds, giving a glimpse of its scale. The makers also dropped the film's Telugu and Hindi posters. The film has been titled Mahashakti in the two languages.

The film is a sequel to Mookuthi Amman, which was written and directed by RJ Balaji in his directorial debut. The 2020 fantasy comedy film chronicled the story of a news anchor joining forces with the title character to expose a godman as fake. The film was released on Hotstar after it couldn't get a theatrical outing due to the pandemic.

Mookuthi Amman 2 is backed by Ishari Ganesh of Vels Films International and will also be co-produced by Sundar C-Khushbu Sundar's Avni Cinemax Pvt Limited, Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, and Ivy Entertainment.

This is the second such update for Nayanthara fans this week after the first look of her other film, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, was also unveiled. The upcoming Telugu film is directed by Anil Ravipudi (Sankranthiki Vasthunam) and stars Nayanthara and Chiranjeevi. This is the actor's third consecutive film with Chiranjeevi, following Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Godfather. Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is gearing up for a Sankranthi 2026 release.
