On that note, the groom’s father, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, who welcomed Dhulipala into the family on X earlier this month, revealed that this wedding was a “deeply meaningful moment” for his family. “Having Chay and Sobhita start their journey at Annapurna Studios, surrounded by the love of family and friends, fills my heart with immense pride and gratitude,” he said in a statement. “It is a celebration of love, tradition and togetherness that reflects the values my father stood for — family, respect, and unity. Seeing them begin this beautiful chapter is a moment of great joy for all of us, and we feel truly blessed to witness it.”

He was also the first to share photos of the newly married couple, with a caption that read, “Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita — you’ve already brought so much happiness into our lives.”

The ceremony continued well into the night, till 1 am, with the chanting of Vedic hymns and the performance of sacred Telugu rituals. For the main wedding function, the ‘lagnam’, the bride opted for a traditional, antique silk Kanjeevaram saree with real gold zari, paying homage to her heritage in a classic ‘pattu cheera’. The groom complemented her in ‘madhuparkham’, a traditional white attire featuring a red border. Every photograph from the wedding festivities caught Chaitanya and Dhulipala smiling ear-to-ear, beaming with joy.

Three days ago, Dhulipala shared photos of her ‘pelli kuthuru’, the Haldi ceremony, clad in a bright red silk saree. Dhulipala paired it with gold jewellery, including a jadau necklace set with a maang teeka, an armband and traditional bangles. She also posted a couple of images from her ‘Raata Staapana’ and ‘Mangalasnaanam’, the auspicious bath, with all her family members in attendance.

The wedding was the first function in the Akkineni family since the unveiling of the grand statue of Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) Garu, commemorating the legendary actor-producer’s birth centenary.

The Akkineni family is also all set to celebrate another happy couple soon as Akhil, the younger son of actors Nagarjuna and Amala, announced his engagement to artist and art exhibitionist Zainab Ravdjee last week.
