The Akkineni family is all set to celebrate another happy couple as Akhil, the younger son of actors Nagarjuna and Amala, announced his engagement with Zainab Ravdjee. The soon-to-be bride is a Mumbai-based artist and art exhibitionist, and the daughter of industrialist Zulfi Ravdjee.

“Found my forever,” Akhil wrote on Instagram, as he shared photos of the couple clad in white. “Happy to announce that Zainab Ravdjee and I are happily engaged.”

Nagarjuna also congratulated the two on X, adding that he was thrilled to announce the news. He continued, “We couldn't be happier to welcome Zainab into our family. Please join us to congratulate the young couple and wish them a lifetime filled with love, joy, and your countless blessings.”

While the comment section on both posts were filled with congratulatory messages, many noticed the age difference between the couple, as Ravdjee is nine years older than her fiancé. Ultimately, this led to Akhil turning off his comments on the post altogether.

Akhil Akkineni made his debut as a lead actor with Akhil in 2015, and has gone on to star in several Telugu films such as Hello and Most Eligible Bachelor. His last release was the spy thriller Agent in 2023.

The announcement of Akhil's engagement comes a week before his half-brother Naga Chaitanya is set to wed actor Sobhita Dhulipala. In the wake of Tamil star Nayanthara's documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale's success on Netflix, there are several unconfirmed reports doing the rounds that Chaitanya and Dhulipala’s wedding rights will be sold to a streaming platform as well.
