Telugu actor Jr NTR's upcoming film, tentatively titled NTR-Neel, officially gets a release date. On April 21, the Telugu star announced that the Prashanth Neel directorial will be released on June 11, 2027, with its first glimpse set to be launched in May. "HIS REIGN… HIS SOIL… JUNE 11, 2027… IT IS…. #NTRNeel," he wrote on X.
The news comes on the heels of Mythri Movie Makers addressing speculations about scheduling cancellations of 'NTRNeel. "There is absolutely no truth to the rumours circulating about the look or any schedule cancellation. The film is progressing as planned, with only a routine preparation gap. We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. Official updates will always come from us. #NTRNeel," their post on X read.
The film is speculated to be titled Dragon, a fact that actor Prithviraj confirmed. According to a report in The Times of India, actor Prithviraj confirmed the title of Prashanth Neel’s next film. In an interview, promoting his release Sarzameen, the Malayalam actor reportedly noted that the film will be titled Dragon
The production team had not announced the title before this. No one from the film’s team has either confirmed or denied the news. Actor Tovino Thomas recently shared an update that surprised fans following the much-anticipated collaboration between Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel. The Malayalam star confirmed that he was no longer part of the upcoming Telugu film.
Speaking during promotions for his recent Malayalam film Pallichattambi in Hyderabad, Tovino addressed ongoing speculation about his involvement and clarified his decision to step away. “It is really hard to allocate dates, so I am not doing it,” he said, citing scheduling constraints as the primary reason for his exit.
Elaborating further, Tovino pointed to differences in filmmaking processes across industries. “I don’t do multiple films at once. In Malayalam, we finish a film in one schedule. But in Telugu, a single project takes almost a year. I can give three months, not an entire year,” he explained.
The Jr NTR–Prashanth Neel project was officially announced on the actor’s birthday in 2022 and has since generated significant buzz. Jr NTR reportedly joined the sets on April 22 after wrapping up work on his Bollywood debut War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and co-starring Hrithik Roshan.
