Ustaad Bhagat Singh was initially announced to be a remake of Atlee and Vijay's Tamil cop actioner Theri. The 2016 film followed the life of Joseph Kuruvilla, a bakery owner with a young daughter, who is forced to revisit his tough past. But according to reports, the writer-director has now revived the script, and the film will not be a remake.
