National Film Award-winning director Rajkumar Periasamy has released a video revealing actor Sai Pallavi's character, Nithya Reddy, in his upcoming jungle-set crime drama, Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood. According to the newly released character reveal, Nithya Reddy is inducted into the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as Additional Superintendent after her excellent service with the Andhra Pradesh Police. Reddy is assigned to work with Interpol on an operation named OM. The film centres on the smuggling of red sanders, a restricted variety of sandalwood found in parts of Andhra Pradesh.
Last month, the makers released the introductory video for Mammootty’s character in the film, Siya, coinciding with the megastar’s 75th birthday. The teaser provided a look into the superstar's character in the film called Burma Karthikeyan. The video began with a team of international officials stating they have issued a notice in search of a member of an organised crime network. In the teaser, Mammootty was also seen in several avatars, including that of a politician.
Dhanush was seen just one step behind the Megastar as the two made a stylish entrance.
Om Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood, which was previously set to release on October 16, delayed its release to November after a potential release clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 and Suriya's Scene.
The film is backed by Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios. Music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar. Written and directed by Periasamy, Om will be released in theatres worldwide on November 20, 2026.
