Aamir Khan, as an arrogant, alcoholic basketball coach, is having a hard time training 10 kids with different abilities in the trailer of his latest Sitaare Zameen Par, which dropped on Tuesday. A spiritual sequel of Khan's 2007 directorial debut Taare Zameen Par, the comedy-drama is an official remake of Javier Fesser’s 2018 Spanish film Campeones.

The three-minute-long trailer follows the adventures of Khan's character, who is assigned to coach a team of 10 differently abled kids for a basketball tournament after he has a run-in with the law.

Directed by Prasanna RS, of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) fame, and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, Sitaare Zameen Par is slated to be released in cinemas on June 20.

The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh and features 10 debutant actors: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Sitaare Zameen Par will be Khan's first film since his 2022 drama Laal Singh Chadha, which was a box-office failure.

While there is no official announcement regarding his next film, there are reports that the superstar is leaning towards signing a new film with his long-time collaborator, Rajkumar Hirani. A Pinkvilla report claimed that Khan and Hirani are likely to reunite for a new film, which would go on floors in 2026.

Billed as a slice-of-life comedy drama, the new project would mark Khan and Hirani's third collaboration after 3 Idiots and PK.

After Sitaare Zameen Par, Khan is also touted to be seen in a special appearance in Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan among others.
