There is a new crime thriller on the block with a new cop: Ali Fazal. Prime Video on Monday revealed the first look of their upcoming series Raakh, led by Fazal, along with Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir. Executive produced and directed by Prosit Roy, who also directed episodes of Paatal Lok season one, as well as the yet-to-be-released Anushka Sharma-starrer Chakda 'Xpress, Raakh will debut on the platform in 2026.

The fictional crime drama, which delves into the psychological complexities of morality and justice, is created, written and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, along with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. The series is produced by EndemolShine India and Gulbadan Talkies.

Nikhil Madhok, director and head of Originals, Prime Video, India, said at the surface, Raakh is a high-stakes thriller drama, but at its core is a "highly emotional" story. "It is one of the most powerful stories we have told on Prime Video, and we can’t wait to bring it to our customers across the world."

Roy dubbed the series a "deeply immersive world that pushes boundaries while exploring the complex layers of human nature." The filmmaker added, "As filmmakers and storytellers, we are drawn to narratives that not only entertain but also challenge perspectives and ignite meaningful conversations. Raakh is exactly that. Anusha and Sandeep have crafted a narrative that delves into the grey areas of morality, justice, and redemption, all while keeping viewers thoroughly engaged. For me, the series represents a bold step forward in Indian storytelling, blending intense drama with nuanced character studies."

Rishi Negi, group chief operating officer, Banijay Asia & EndemolShine India, said, "With Raakh, we set out to create more than just a gripping crime thriller; it’s a layered, character-driven story that challenges the boundaries of morality, justice, and consequence... he series reflects the evolving appetite of Indian and global audiences for narratives that are both emotionally complex and genre-forward."
