The makers on Tuesday unveiled the first-look poster of the sequel, featuring Singh standing centre-frame in a black trench coat, his hair left loose against a blazing red backdrop. The poster of the Aditya Dhar directorial projects Singh in full-throttle intensity, but it was a small yet telling detail in the corner that stood out: the logos of Star Gold and JioHotstar.

, Bhavana is seen embarking on a relentless hunt to find her missing brother. Played by Shebin Benson, the brother’s disappearance sets the film’s narrative in motion. The trailer opens with Bhavana’s character frantically searching for him, as an ominous ticking clock underscores the background score.

As the trailer progresses, several characters who appear to be antagonists make their entry, while it is also hinted that the police— including the investigating officer played by Rahman—may be complicit in the crime. Bhavana’s pursuit of her brother and the acts of revenge that follow form the core of what the trailer reveals so far. “I’ll go to any extent to find him,” she says towards the end of the trailer.

The trailer concludes with quick cuts of two stylised action sequences—one set inside a warehouse and another outdoors in slush. Both appear to have been shot using slow-motion cameras. The film’s full title reads

'Dhurandhar' Composer Shashwat Sachdev To Make His Telugu Debut With 'The India House'

 on Monday, February 2, stated that the zonal officer of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), D Balamurali, declined to comment on the status of Vijay’s upcoming film 

, citing confidentiality. According to the report, the officer said that no information can be revealed until a certificate has been issued.

Speculation around the film’s certification has been rife on social media, with reports suggesting that the film’s producer, KVN Productions, had agreed to remove portions of the film deemed controversial. Some of these reports claimed that as much as 20 minutes of footage could be cut. However, there has been no official clarification from either the producers or the CBFC on the matter.

 report further stated that the CBFC official maintained that it was not legally permissible to divulge any details while the film was awaiting certification. He added that any official information regarding

Veteran Telugu filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao's next film has been announced, marking the director's return to cinema after more than ten years since his last directorial. The announcement was made by Swapna C Dutt's Swapna Cinema, with a brief promotional video. The upcoming film, which is tentatively titled SSR 61, denoting his 61st film, will be produced by popular Telugu director Nag Ashwin and have music by Devi Sri Prasad.

"Vyjayanthi Movies has already positioned SSR61 as Singeetam’s most ambitious film ever- a bold claim considering the trailblazing legacy he carries. With the title and additional details to be revealed soon, the announcement has sparked tremendous curiosity, setting the stage for what could be a landmark moment in Indian cinema. Singeetam is not merely returning; he is aiming to outdo himself. And that possibility alone is enough to make SSR61 one of the most awaited projects of the year," reads a press note. 

The film's title will be announced soon. Rao, who is behind several landmark Tamil and Telugu films such as Kamal Haasan's 

 (2024), is currently working on the sequel to the hit Prabhas film. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the science fiction epic co-starred Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Anna Ben, and Deepika Padukone in important roles. The sequel, however, will not see Padukone's return. It was recently announced that Padukone will no longer be part of the film.

A burning teddy bear can be many things. A metaphor for lost innocence. A signifier of unprocessed trauma. Evidence that the props department had a lot of time on its hands. But that it can also double up as a lighter is something we recently learned from 

, who sets one on fire and uses it to light a cigarette in 

Cigarette smoking has always been injurious to health. But lighting your cigarette with such swagger that it emotionally destroys everyone around you might be the more lethal move. There is a difference between nicotine damage and cinematic damage, and our films know this well.

Cinema has never been subtle about cigarettes. Sometimes they are psychological. Sometimes narrative. Sometimes metaphoric. And sometimes they are just there so a man can look “cool” or a woman can look “not like other girls”. We are deeply uninterested in all of that. We do not care what the cigarette 

 it is lit. Because let’s face it, once a cigarette is on, the options are limited. You can hold it delicately. You can grip it like it owes you money. You can smoke cross like Meryl Streep or hollow out your cheeks like Tabu. That’s about it. The real creative freedom lies in the moment before ignition.

So, in the interest of a slow news week and faster-burning objects, here are some of our favourite moments when cinema decided that a lighter was simply too boring.

Across world cinema, cigarettes often mark thresholds. Between life and death. Resolve and hesitation. Intimacy and violence. In 

, they also mark the moment a man decides to light up using a literal bomb. Hamza’s journey truly kicks off in the second part, and his zero-regard bravado is perfectly encapsulated when he uses a bomb to light his cigarette. It is objectively very funny to see the anti-smoking warning crawl across the screen while a man calmly holds an explosive device inches from his face. In that moment, the cigarette is the safest thing in the frame.

Rocky Bhai empties round after round into a police station, because restraint is not part of the aesthetic. Eventually, the barrel of the machine gun turns red-hot, smoking in quiet exhaustion. And that, friends, is when Rocky Bhai decides it is time for a cigarette.

Anyone who has tried lighting a cigarette off a suspiciously warm metal surface in an airport smoking room knows this is usually not glamorous. But Rocky Bhai does it with such confidence that you almost forget he has just put more metal into that building than the props department put into the set.

Pushpa, seeing an opportunity rather than a medical emergency, uses the flames to light a cigar. Because why waste a perfectly good shoulder fire. Fire safety is temporary. Swag is forever.

 trailer, Shahid Kapoor’s Ustara lights a teddy bear on fire using a lighter, then uses the flaming teddy bear to light his cigarette. He then casually tosses the still-burning toy aside, causing a larger fire behind him, and walks away.

There are easier ways to do this. There always are. One is tempted to recall 

, where Ranveer Singh’s Khilji pours perfume on a woman and rubs against her to scent himself. Politics and cruelty aside, there were simpler options. Similarly here, the teddy did not deserve this. RIP.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the 

 firing case, where bullets were fired at the filmmaker's home in Juhu, Mumbai. According to 

, the initial probe has pointed at their links with Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Shubham Lonkar, an accused in the Baba Siddique murder case.

As per the news agency, the four were among the five persons detained earlier in Pune and were subsequently brought to Mumbai, where a court remanded them in police custody till February 5.

According to police officials, at least five rounds were fired at the first floor of the nine-storey building in the Juhu area at around 12:45 AM on Sunday, with one bullet striking the glass of a gym located in the building

"Nobody was injured, and it was not known whether the filmmaker was at his residence in the Juhu area when the incident occurred in the wee hours. Hours after the firing, a threatening social media post surfaced claiming that Mr. Lonkar was behind the crime," the report quoted a police official.

Immediately after the firing, Juhu police and crime branch teams rushed to the spot to investigate the incident and examined CCTV footage from around the building to establish the sequence of events. 

While security outside the filmmaker's building was stepped up following the firing, a 

report claimed that it could also extend to his film sets. According to the report, a security team of about 60 will be put into place when

Every person entering the set, including junior artistes, vendors, and daily-wage crew, will be pre-registered with ID verification; no spot entries will be allowed. Vehicle movement will also be regulated, with all equipment trucks and vanity vans logged in advance and checked at the entry point," the report quoted an insider.

Addressing the press at the hospital, Telugu screen icon Chiranjeevi, the father of Ram Charan, thanked fans for their wishes. "Thank you all for your warm wishes. I am taking this opportunity to share some joyful news from our home with our well-wishers, fans, and everyone who roots for us. We are incredibly happy. Both the Konidela and Kamineni families wish to express our shared joy through the media," he said.

"Last night, Ram Charan and Upasana were blessed with twins. Both Upasana and the children are doing very well and are in good health. For a long time, many of you have prayed for this auspicious moment in our home. By the grace of God and Lord Hanuman, a baby girl and a baby boy have been born. Sharing this news brings us immense happiness. I would like to extend special thanks to Dr Sumana from Apollo Cradle in Chennai, who travelled here for the delivery. She also performed the delivery of Charan and Upasana’s first baby, Klin Kaara. My gratitude also goes to Rama Sinha, the head here, and Dr Lata, Apollo’s pediatric specialist. Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff and to all our fans, who are celebrating this like a festival.”
