Kannada actor Rishab Shetty, who will next be seen in the anticipated Kantara prequel, will collaborate with Telugu producer Naga Vamsi for his next. The announcement was made on July 30. "My next film: May your blessings be with me as always," Shetty wrote on X. "Not all Rebels are forged in Battle. Destiny chooses some And this is that story of a Rebel," he added. The poster sees him garbed in a mask, leading several people positioned in a sandstorm to battle.

Produced by Sai Soujanya and Naga Vamsi, the film will be directed by Ashwin Gangaraju, who directed the Telugu film Aakashavaani in 2021. The filmmaker has also assisted SS Rajamouli for the Baahubali films. Among Shetty's upcoming films is also a Prasanth Varma directorial titled Jai Hanuman, presented by T-Series.

Shetty, who was last seen in his popular directorial Kantara (2022), will next be seen in its prequel, which is headed for an October release. Kantara: Chapter 1 recently wrapped up filming. The makers of the movie, Hombale Films, announced this with a brief behind-the-scenes video.

Produced by Hombale Films, the Rishab Shetty directorial is a prequel to his sensational Kannada production Kantara (2022), a film set in a village of Dakshina Kannada, weaving a powerful tale of the nature vs human conflict. The film starred Sapthami Gowda, Kishore Kumar, and Achyuth Kumar. The prequel, which will explore the reign of the Kadambas from Karnataka, is written and directed by Rishab Shetty (with Anirudh Mahesh and Shanil Guru serving as co-writers), and has music by B Ajaneesh Loknath.

While the prequel faced a few setbacks on the way, including the drowning of a crew member in May, which briefly halted the shoot, the makers have reiterated that there will be no delay in its release. It will be released on October 2 in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Bengali, and English.
