Exclusive | Sajid Nadiadwala in Advanced Discussions for Half-Billion Dollar Strategic Deal With International Company
The major development comes at a time when the producer is awaiting the release of his upcoming biggie, 'O'Romeo' starring Shahid Kapoor.
Producer-filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala is quietly positioning his banner for its most ambitious leap yet. THR India has learned that Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, among the longest-running and most influential production houses in Hindi cinema, is in talks for a half-billion-dollar global deal with an international company.
Founded over 75 years ago, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has long been a major force in the Hindi film industry, backing a slate of commercial and critical successes over the decades. Its catalogue spans titles such as David Dhawan’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha and Highway, Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore, Judwaa, Heyy Babyy and the long-running Housefull franchise.
While the specifics of the partnership are being closely guarded, industry sources say Nadiadwala has held “multiple closed-door meetings with a global company” for what is being described as a “strategic partnership.”
“A half-billion-dollar deal is getting signed between the parties,” revealed a source, adding that the move is expected to allow Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment to build a stronger presence oversees.
The major development on the mega strategic deal comes at a time when the producer is awaiting the release of his upcoming biggie, O'Romeo. The romantic action drama is slated for release on February 13, on the eve of Valentine's Day.
The film marks the fourth collaboration between actor Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj —after Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014) and Rangoon (2017). While plot details about O'Romeo have not been officially disclosed, the film is reportedly set in an older era of the Mumbai underworld and also stars Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani.
O'Romeo marks Bhardwaj’s first theatrical release as director in eight years after his streaming titles like Modern Love: Mumbai (2022), Khufiya (2023) and Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley (2023). Kapoor, meanwhile, was last seen in the 2025 cop-actioner Deva.
