Salman Khan's legal team has reportedly served a legal notice to the makers of the upcoming feature Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy, a project that is seemingly inspired by the superstar's long-running blackbuck poaching case.
According to a report by India Today, Khan's legal representatives have sought an immediate halt to the film's release. The legal notice demands the immediate retraction and removal of all posters, teasers, and promotional materials associated with the project.
The communication further warns of stringent legal action and escalating litigation if the stipulated demands are not met by the production house, the publication reported.
Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy is directed by Bharat S. Shrinate and produced under the banner of Amit Jani. The filmmakers recently unveiled the first-look poster of the feature, which depicted its lead character stationed in a forest terrain holding a sniper rifle.
Reacting to the legal intervention, producer Amit Jani alleged that the move was a calculated attempt to "intimidate" the cast and crew associated with the independent project.
According to the publication, Jani claimed that the notice was designed to exert pressure, leveraging Khan's immense industry star power to force the filmmakers to back down.
As of now, the actor and his legal representatives have not issued a counter-response to the producer's public statements.
On the film front, Khan is readying a packed slate. While the actor has successfully wrapped principal photography for his upcoming feature Matrabhoomi, the Apoorva Lakhia-directed project has yet to lock an official theatrical release date. The high-octane war drama also stars Chitrangda Singh in a pivotal role.
Furthermore, Khan has officially commenced filming for his next marquee project, an untitled massive action entertainer directed by filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally. Bankrolled by heavyweight producer Dil Raju, the film features Nayanthara as the female lead. The production house has already confirmed a grand Eid 2027 theatrical window, effectively positioning the tentpole film to capitalise on the lucrative holiday window.
Apart from these projects, Khan is also in active development negotiations with the filmmaker duo Raj & DK for a conceptual superhero feature. While initial trade reports indicate that the actor has agreed in principle to the core high-concept idea, he has reportedly requested a fully mounted, detailed script narration before officially signing on the dotted line.
