Superstar Shah Rukh Khan isn't shifting the release date of his much-awaited actioner, King, despite a crowded December lining up for movies globally.
For weeks now, there has been chatter in the trade if the Siddharth Anand directorial will move its release date of December 24, as it will face competition from two Hollywood biggies, both arriving a week before the Hindi actioner: Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.
The December 24 window will also be packed, as, apart from King, two other films are lining up for release: Dwayne Johnson-led Jumanji: Open World and Nagarjuna Akkineni's King100.
During an #AskSRK session on X, when a fan asked Khan if King is still on track as the film might get sandwiched between films, the actor quipped, "Not at all....Think about the breads as well... We are the tasty centre patty."
As fans requested Khan to drop either another visual unit or at least a dialogue from the film, the superstar shared a video on X, saying, "Picture abhi baaki hai; King akela kaafi hai (The movie isn't over yet; the King is enough on his own)."
In another post, when a fan asked Khan if he has pushed himself to deliver bigger action set pieces than Jawan, the actor said, "Yeah action is very big and Sid has really worked hard on it. But I hope the emotions and comedy appeal to you all also."
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King will also mark the reunion of Khan and Deepika Padukone after films like Jawan, Pathaan, Chennai Express, Happy New Year and Om Shanti Om.
King will see Abhishek Bachchan turn main antagonist and will also mark the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan, who was seen in Zoya Akhtar's Netflix film The Archies (2023). The movie will be Khan's first film since his historic comeback in 2023 with movies like Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki.
