SonyLIV Unveils 2025 Slate: 'Maharani', 'Scam', 'Gullak' Return; Trisha, Nazriya Nazim, Prabhudeva Star in Originals

Sony LIV has unveiled its 2025 slate, which features a line-up of originals, unscripted shows, and sporting events. The streamer dropped a video announcing their slate, which sees the return of some of their popular titles like Hansal Mehta's Scam series, actor Huma Qureshi-led Maharani, and season five of Gullak, along with new shows which will be headlined by Trisha Krishnan, Nazriya Nazim, and Prabhudeva.

Mehta's new show will be Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, while Maharani 4 will see Qureshi returning as Rani Bharti with an ensemble including Shweta Basu Prasad, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, and Kani Kusruti. Another Hindi title that will be returning is Freedom At Midnight 2. Based on the book by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, the show is helmed by Nikkhil Advani as the showrunner.

Trisha will return in Brinda 2, the much-awaited sequel also starring Ravindra Vijay. The Telugu show is directed by Surya Vangala. While Nazriya Nazim will be seen headlining the Tamil Original, The Madras Mystery – Fall of a Superstar. Billed as a 1940s scandal-driven period thriller, it also stars Natty, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Nasser and YG Mahendran.

Prabhudeva will be making his OTT debut as a cop tackling a politically sensitive murder case in Sethurajan IPS, directed by Rafiq Ismail.

Raveena Tandon will headline the political drama Dynasty, which also stars Ronit Roy, Prakash Belawadi, Talat Aziz, Zeyn Shaw and Gurfateh Pirzada. The show is created by Nandan Singh, with Sahil Sangha attached as showrunner and director.

Starring Manav Kaul and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Real Kashmir Football Club will follow the story of two men who built Kashmir’s first professional football club.

Bengali Originals

• Jazz City (Fiction; Show runner &Dir: Soumik Sen; Produced by Cherrypix;) – A period drama set around a jazz club during the 1970–71 Liberation War, starring Arifin Shuvoo, Sauraseni Maitra.

• Manvat Murders 2 (Fiction; Produced by AGPPL; Director: Ashish Bende – A darker, more chilling return of the investigative thriller.
