Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has finally addressed speculation on Mega Star Chiranjeevi being part of his next film Spirit, starring Prabhas in the lead role.

Vanga has often spoken about his admiration for Chiranjeevi, and there have been rumours that the star would play the role of Prabhas' father in Spirit.

However, Vanga now has debunked the claims during a recent interaction with the team of the upcoming Telugu film Jigiris. When asked about the casting, Sandeep dismissed the speculation, saying, “No, no, these are rumours. He is not in the film. If I have to do, I would do a straight solo film with him."

The filmmaker also spoke about having a poster of Chiranjeevi in his office. “That is my favourite shot. A while ago, I posted that on social media wishing him a happy birthday. One of his best expressions, I feel,” Vanga said.

According to a report in India Today, when asked about South Korean actor Dong Lee's casting, Vanga said he could not confirm or deny the reports.

Spirit, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is speculated to star Prabhas in the role of an angry young police officer who takes on a mighty mafia syndicate. The film is led by an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, Kanchana, and Prakash Raj, and is produced by T-Series Films & Bhadrakali Pictures Production. It is also reported that the sons of Telugu cinema stalwarts, Trivikram Srinivas and Ravi Teja, Rishie Manoj and Mahadhan Bhupathiraju, are part of the film's direction team as assistant directors.

Deepika Padukone was initially announced as the film's female lead, but she exited the project, citing work-hour issues. In response to the controversy, Spirit director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared his perspective on social media without naming Padukone, expressing his frustration over creative disagreements and accusing the actor of sharing details about the project prematurely. Triptii Dimri has since been announced as Padukone's replacement.
