Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’ Locks Release Date On December 25

Maddock Films has announced that Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, will release in cinemas worldwide on December 25, 2025. The film stars Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Simar Bhatia, with a special appearance by Dharmendra.

Ikkis tells the real-life story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s most celebrated soldiers and the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. He was only 21 when he fought bravely during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, standing his ground till the end.

The tagline, “Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega,” reflects both his age and his undying legacy. Raghavan, known for Andhadhun and Badlapur, steps into a new space with a film rooted in history. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Ikkis continues Maddock Films’ streak of projects with strong narratives.

The announcement was accompanied by a striking motion poster that captures the spirit of sacrifice and courage at the heart of the story. With its release set for Christmas, Ikkis promises to be a true tribute to bravery.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Sriram Raghavan said he felt an instant connection with the story of Ikkis. “I really connected with it,” he shared. “Parts of the story are very emotional, but it also has battle sequences, so we have tried to approach it differently.” Calling it both a war film and a drama, he added, “It was a break from the kind of movies I was doing, and I wanted that — so that the next time I make a thriller, I feel fresh and there’s no baggage.”

For Agastya Nanda, Ikkis marks his second film after The Archies, placing him in a far more grounded and demanding role. Opposite him is Jaideep Ahlawat, whose recent performances in Paatal Lok, Maharaj, and An Action Hero have earned wide acclaim. For Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis comes after Merry Christmas, his acclaimed noir featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi.
